Information about hotels

Dear all,

As you will already be aware, the midterm meeting for the SPINTAN project will take place on the Thursday 23rd and Friday 24th April 2015, at NIESR in London. The meeting is anticipated to last for a full day on the Thursday (starting at around 9am) and finishing at around lunchtime on the Friday.

Further information about the meeting will follow in due course, but we are circulating information about hotels now, as people may wish to book early to secure a better price.

We have made a group reservation at the H10 London Waterloo hotel (details below), but have also listed some other options, so that people can choose the hotel that best fits their requirements. This map shows both the location of NIESR and the hotels in the area. All prices given below are based on staying for 2 nights, arriving on the 22nd April and departing on the 24th April.

H10 London Waterloo hotel - Booking Form
Approximately 25-30 minute walk from NIESR (or a 15 minute bus journey)
Special rate of £140 per night (double room for single occupancy including breakfast)

We appreciate that some people may wish to stay closer to NIESR, unfortunately this is more expensive:

Double Tree Westminster
About a 5 minute walk from NIESR
Book directly through the hotel website – current price £216 per night (including breakfast)

Park Plaza Riverbank
Approximately a 10 minute walk from NIESR.
Book directly through the hotel website – an “early bird saver” with breakfast is currently £149.60 per night (or with the option to cancel is £187) .

We also thought it might be worth mentioning a budget option for those on a more restricted budget. Please note that the following Travelodges are budget hotels, and so this is reflected in the standard of the accommodation (although this should be acceptable). They are also located slightly further away from NIESR.

Travelodge Vauxhall
Approximately 20-25 minute walk from NIESR.
£87.50 per night for flexible rate, or £66 for saver rate (non-refundable). Breakfast not included.

Travelodge Covent Garden (not shown on the map):
Approximately 35 minute walk from NIESR (or around 20 minute bus journey).
£119 per night for flexible rate, or £93 for saver rate (non refundable). Breakfast not included.

Please note that only the H10 London Waterloo hotel is holding rooms for us at the price given above. The prices for all other hotels listed above are therefore subject to change and availability is not guaranteed. We would encourage you to book early if you can.
